AIMS Tanzania and the University of Dar Es Salaam Tanzania, collaborating under the Centre for International Mobility (CIMO) and HEI-ICI Projects including the partner universities in Finland like Lappenranta University of Technology, Oulu University and Tampere University of Technology organised a workshop on educational cooperation and network based virtual mobility with special emphasis on inverse problems. As a result of the workshop a pilot example of virtual learning environment in inverse problems connecting Finland and East Africa will be launched.
The workshop audience included senior academics in Mathematics from the Eastern Africa region, the rest of Africa, and Europe. As well as postgraduate students in mathematics, from and outside the region with an interest in the Inverse Problems. This included two AIMS alumni, Laban Gasper and Karamel Melisa. During the conference, both presented papers and posters.
